Using philanthropy to back public interest legal action and improve access to justice.

Law for Change is a philanthropic fund backing legal action in the public interest, holding governments, regulators and companies to account when they abuse their power.

Since 2023, it has supported over 100 cases, funding legal fees and providing protection against adverse costs.

As a co-founder, I’ve worked with philanthropists to shape the fund and grow its reach, drawing on my own experience of bringing a successful Supreme Court case and my wider work in philanthropy.

In November 2025, we convened the Attorney General, the Chair of the Justice Committee and others in Parliament to discuss how legal action can be used more effectively to improve access to justice.

The work brings together funding, legal expertise and convening power – showing how philanthropy can be used not just to support causes, but to shift the systems that shape them.
